Should I ask him to the sadies dance?(please help)?

So theres this guy who i think is cute.He hangs out with my guy bestfriend during brunch everyday and im always with my bestfriend during brunch.Last weekened i went to a party and me him danced for a while,when we went back to school he would look at me with this face &iknew he was thinking of something,when iped by him he gave me a hug &we never hug?My bestfriend wants me to try talking to him like that but idont know,we have the sadies dance coming up(dance where the girl ask the guy to the dance)&ithought about asking him to it,should i?&if yes how should i ask him?please help(:
